The weathermen promised a lovely summers day as it turned out we all froze at Cricketfield Lane!
Taylor West won the toss and despite a weakened bowling attack with David Carlaw away he still considered there was enough fire power to bowl Camden out and elected to bat. At 59/4, Simon Gardner with all 4,this may have seemed like the wrong decision but Michael Cafferkey (51) and Mark Edwards (34) put on 50 for the 7th wkt and this proved the decisive partnership in the match.
West's decision soon proved to be a good one, as Camden never really got going with Sam Rippington and Michael Kay putting in impressive opening spells. Rippington in particular bowling with real menance picking up 4 for 7 runs in his opening 7 over spell. Kay also picking up 3 of his own put Camden on the back foot. Things got a little easier for Camden once Rippington had to come off due to his age restriction and Kay finished his opening 10 over spell. However, a wicket by Mark Edwards immediately after the drinks break and despite some lusty batting from Brown (34) which helped extend the Camden innings, it soon folded on 114 with Rippington completing his 5 for and Michael Cafferkey picking up the final wicket. This gave Ramsey a 47 run win and 25 points.
