Ramsey 2nds started this season with hopes of title chasing glory but quickly their targets seem to be falling more in line with relegation avoidance after posting 3 defeats in 3 matches....
Once again the Rams were short on runs with only Ed Manchett (60) and Elliot Smith (48) posting a notable contribution. However this week good bowling was not to blame, simply poor shot selection and lack of concentration.
Despite that 193 still seemed a good target with a reasonable opportunity to record their first victory of the season against a weakened Ufford missing many star batters. However, the Rams inability to get off to a good start in the field showed again as Ashley Wells and Damian Clarke struggled to contain the opening pair giving them a flyer that proved crucial in a then rain reduced match which continued to favour the home team with each reduction in the target required.
Ed Manchett did give the Rams some hope with an excellent bowling display, unfortunately he could not find any support.
In the end Ufford won through thanks to their superior run rate, which came into play as the match was reduced to rain.
Next week with Nassington 2nds at home who sit 2nd in the table the Rams need to see a significant improvement in form and application (plus maybe a bit of luck) to get their season under way with a win!
