Elliot Cafferkey took the family bragging rights this weekend after guiding the 3rd XI to a fine victory over Brampton on Sunday, prompting team-mate James Markland to pop the cork on the Amaretto bottle at 'The Ram' in a post-match bell-ringing bonanza.
On the field, Cafferkey led the way with a fine innings of 90 as Ramsey posted a respectable 199 all out in 44.2 overs. There will be slight concern for the rest of the teams batting form as 'Extras' was the second top-scorer with 27. There were however, useful contributions from Ed Manchett (23), John Wells (19) and an at-the-time sober Markland (17).
Cafferkey then took over with the ball, bowling off-spin, and returning fine figures of 3-15 from six overs. In partnership with Vinny Woodward, who himself returned fine figures of 4-20 from 10 overs, the spin-twins ripped through Brampton's batting order, as the visitors slumped from 59-1 to 93-8, finally reaching 121 as Craig Golightly took the wicket of Brampton's Andy Canham
